It’s been several weeks since we’ve talked about the Vision 20/20 process. Silence doesn’t mean inactivity. Work has been going on behind-the-scenes. We’ve had numerous committee meetings. Plans are moving forward.
Let me give you a brief update and a glimpse into the future.
Connector Road Update. The project is scheduled to start soon. The contractor is waiting on Leon County officials to give the go ahead. Estimates say the project will take three weeks to complete once started. We believe the new access road will provide a safer route to go north from the church facility. If you have any questions about the project, please call us in the Church Office. We’d love to answer your questions.
Vision 20/20 Brochures. We’re developing a brochure that explains Phase One. The brochure will feature a letter from me, elevation drawings of the proposed buildings, financial needs of the project, and a section dedicated to questions and answers. Brochures will be ready in the near future.
Catch the Vision Dinners with the Pastor. We’re planning at least ten dinners to share the vision of Phase One. We’re asking you to attend one of the dinners. We’ll contact you soon about reservation options. You’ll be able to ask questions during each dinner meeting. The dates for the dinners are June 22, July 13, August 3, 10, 24, 29, 31, September 7, 14, and 21. The catered dinners will be held in the Fellowship Hall on the South Campus starting at 6:30 pm. Childcare will be provided for each dinner.
30-Day Prayer Focus. A healthy church is a praying church. As we move forward with the Vision 20/20 process, we’re planning to lead our church family to pray. Beginning September 1, we’ll be able to pray together in unity, asking God to reveal His glory and favor.
A Day of Commitment. October 1, 2017 is “Commitment Day” for the Vision 20/20 process. We’re asking you to come forward that Sunday in worship and give financial resources or a commitment card, indicating your level of giving and involvement. We’re asking that all funding options be fulfilled by Sunday, December 3, 2017. In the coming days, we’ll explain the various ways that you can financially participate.
As we’ve shared, our commitment is to complete Phase One with no additional debt and reduce the church’s current debt. Ten percent of all funds raised will go to principal reduction of our current mortgage.
These are exciting days for the Lord’s church! Thank you for being involved in the process. As God leads and provides, our prayer is to meet the needs of children, students, and adults in Phase One.
If you have questions about the Vision 20/20 Phase One process, please contact Rick Stewart or me. We’ll answer your questions or put you in contact with another leader involved in the journey.
I look forward to seeing you Sunday in Bible study and worship.
It’s All for His Glory,
Pastor Ronny
