Our vision statement, and as the Lord leads, is about “making disciples that love upward, inward, and outward.” How are we reaching people in our city and around the world?
In 2017, one of our strategic goals focuses on our mission outreach. We’re seeking to mobilize 500 members this year to reach our city and the world for Christ. How is God calling you to be on mission for Him? Is He leading you to reach a family member, neighbor, classmate, or coworker? Is He stretching you to serve overseas?
I want to list several opportunities for you to be on mission for Jesus in Tallahassee and around the world.
1. A new journey to Cuba. My heart is burdened for Cuba. Growing up, I never imagined God would open a door for me to serve and lead a mission team to Cuba. However, nothing is impossible with our God (Lk. 1:37). The dates for the Cuba mission trip are June 24-30, 2017. Our trip will focus on teaching Scripture, discipling believers, sharing Jesus, and loving people. If you have an interest in the mission trip, please contact Shannon (firstname.lastname@example.org or 850-893-0893). She’ll add your name to the list. Our group size is limited to twelve volunteers. One of the volunteers will be a leader from the Florida Baptist Convention, leaving eleven people from Bradfordville. You’ll hear details soon about an informational meeting for the trip. However, it’s wise to add your name to the interest list as soon as possible.
2. A return trip to the Dominican Republic. Our church has traveled and served in the Dominican Republic for several years. We’re planning a return trip to Dominican Republic this year. The dates for the project are June 24-30, 2017. Many of our students in the student ministry desire to participate on this mission trip. We’ll need adults to serve on this mission team, too. If you have an interest in the mission adventure, please contact Bradfordville’s student pastor, Tom Cooney (email@example.com or 850-893-0893). He’s the coordinator for this mission trip.
3. A time to reach our city. “Love Tallahassee” proved to be a great mission day for our church last year. We saw over 200 of you serving Jesus throughout our city, including children, students, and adults. We’re planning another day to “Love Tallahassee” on Saturday, April 1, 2017. Plans are still in the works. We’ll keep you informed. I encourage you to place the date on your calendar. You don’t want to miss an opportunity to “love outward” in Tallahassee.
God is using us to pray, give, go, and send! I look forward to seeing Bradfordville on mission in our city and around the world in 2017!
