Ministries with Kingdom Agendas

As I pray for Bradfordville First Baptist Church on a daily basis, I thank the Lord for the ministries that function with kingdom agendas. God is using His church to make an eternal difference in our city and around the world! That truth verifies that our vision statement of “loving upward, inward, and outward” is being fulfilled.

I call you to pray for Bob Daniels. Bob is leaving this week for South Carolina. The people of South Carolina are suffering greatly because of floodwaters. Through the North American Mission Board and the Florida Baptist Convention, disaster relief teams are in South Carolina serving Jesus and flood victims. As Southern Baptists, we’re known for our compassionate relief work. I appreciate Bob leaving the comforts of Tallahassee to serve in South Carolina. Bob, thank for you for your example, and we’re praying for you (and Dru, too!) and the many disaster relief volunteers.

Another ministry that I hear kind words about frequently is the Card Ministry. In our weekly staff meetings, we read aloud the various prayer request cards from Sunday. Our staff team prays for the many requests, too. In our Wednesday evening prayer services, many of you submit prayer requests each week. Those requests are prayed for each Wednesday night. In addition to prayer, we have a ministry team that collects those prayer cards and sends personal cards to each person (if possible). God is using the Card Ministry to touch people’s lives.

I talked with Jim Baxley last week. He shared with me a story about his cousin. Jim’s cousin lives in Waycross, GA. His cousin recently faced a number of health challenges and asked our church to pray for him. The request was honored, and the Card Ministry Team sent Jim’s cousin a card. That card blessed and touched Jim’s cousin! He said to Jim, “You go to a great church. I want to attend a worship service with you one Sunday.”

As for the many people who serve on the Card Ministry Team, thank you for your dedication and compassion. God is using you!

Exciting days are ahead for BFBC! Light Up Bradfordville is close. We need more candy, chips (small individual bags), and trunks. You can bring candy and chips in during the week or on Sundays and leave them in the office area, the children’s area, or in the Gathering Area. You can call the church office and sign up to use your trunk. It’s going to be a great event, allowing us to love children and families in our city.

You can still pick up shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. Boxes are located outside the children’s area and in the Gathering Area. Shoeboxes need to be returned to the church facility by November 15.

May Jesus continue to use us to lift Him up! Jesus said, “And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself” (Jn. 12:32).

Staying Kingdom Focused,
Pastor Ronny
