You Asked for It!

One aspect of my calling that requires quality time each week is sermon preparation. I invest hours every week praying, studying, writing, and preparing to deliver God’s Word. In 1 Cor. 9:16, Paul testified, “Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!” My spirit resonates with Paul. My desire to preach comes from God’s call, not from personal ambitions. Paul appealed to Timothy, his young protégé in ministry, “Preach the Word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching” (2 Tim. 4:2).

I pray and seek the Holy Spirit’s leadership consistently about what to preach. My sermon planning and preaching approach offers variety, ranging from stand-alone sermons, a series of messages, or a collection of sermons through a book of the Bible.

As I look at my preaching calendar for the fall, I’m planning a sermon series that involves you. I’m asking you to submit subjects or topics that you’d like covered in a sermon. The fall sermon series will be entitled, “You Asked for It!” I intend to pray through your responses and develop a sermon series based on your feedback.

How can you submit subjects or topics? Many of you have already done so this past Sunday. However, you still have time. Click here to fill out a submission form. I hope you’ll take advantage of one of the three options and be involved in the fall sermon series.

Thank you for giving generously to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. As we prayed for, we EXCEEDED our offering goal! I’m thankful to see Bradfordville First Baptist Church actively engaged in reaching people in Tallahassee and around the world with the gospel. Our next special offering is scheduled for June. The focus of this offering is to support the gospel-centered ministry of the Florida Baptist Children’s Homes.

I hope you’ll take the time in the coming days to welcome John Bennett (our new children and family pastor) to the pastoral staff. John started his ministry with us this week. I encourage you to pray for John and his family as they make the transition from Kentucky, to Florida.

As our church family, Angie and I love you and pray for you daily. May the Lord keep us united and committed to fulfilling His vision!

Desiring to Preach the Word,
Pastor Ronny
