Spirit-led stewardship is alive and well at Bradfordville First Baptist Church as faithful members are building up “treasures in heaven” by investing time, talent and resources in God’s work here in Tallahassee and across the world.
The Stewardship Committee, under the leadership of Tommy Pipkin, has always stressed that stewardship is about more than money. “How could we possibly put a price tag on the Kingdom work of the members who participated in the recent mission trip to Brazil?” asks Pipkin, “Yet it’s a great example of sacrificial giving…and stewardship.”
While it likes what is sees in terms of stewardship at Bradfordville, the Committee knows its work is far from done. That’s why it constantly pushes the Biblical principles of stewardship through messages like the “Stewardship Thought of the Week,” that is shared with Sunday School classes during the time for announcements.
The Committee is also committed to helping people learn the Biblical approach to their personal finances through programs like Crown Ministries and Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University that are each slated to be offered at least once a year.
On May 17, during the church Ministry Fair, the Stewardship Committee plans to have even more financial resources available to members, including estate planning tools from the Florida Baptist Convention.
In addition to Pipkin, committee members are Steve Conner, Karen Griffin, Jackie Hudson, Tim Moore, and Paul Thompson.
